The story of my trees…
The past few days we’ve been blessed with good sun & ample of rain. Hence, trees in my backyard are growing quite well and bearing fruits.
This guava tree was only planted less than 6 mths ago. Given by my neighbour before she moved out. We took out the plant from the pot & replanted it to the ground. Cant believe it’s already bearing fruits in a short period of time. I was so happy when i saw 2 little pink bells peeking tru their leaves. I was hoping that it will be this type rather than the other ones which are rounder, green & hard.
These are chempedaks. jackfruit cousin? OK, this belong to the estate. but its conveniently planted behind so i shall claimed its mind ,heh heh! Not a fan tho. Once the rubber gets into your hands, it’ll hard to get them out. All the trouble getting your hands (& knife!) sticky & dirty, you’ll only find a few ‘bijik’ inside. Not worth all the messiness.
These are chikus. I planted this tree some 12 years ago when we moved in here. Been enjoying the harvest for a while now
Cory, want to come by & pluck yourself?
This is my curry tree. God knows how many times i’ve been pruning this tree coz its growing real fast. Just pruned it last nov. & i meant really pruned it till the last branch - bald - just the trunk left. Now look at the new shoots? You should see how they’ve been shooting out all over my backyard too (from the roots underground). Really wild man!
Well, i found out from the tree cutting man that curry leaves are good for diebetic. You just boil the leaves & drink up the water. How? Any truth or not? Got to do some researching on curry leaves & its healing properties. Since dh is suffering from diabetes mellitus, now at least i can put them to good use rather than throwing them all away. I mean how often do i cook curry anyway.
