Prayer & Forgiveness

I’m so thankful that my 2 preschoolers have learnt how to to say their Lord’s prayer without having to lead them. Yes, they may be young & naive & may not understand what exactly they are saying, but childrens’ prayers are the most genuine, innocent & honest one. Full of love & sincerity & a strong ardent desire to love & be loved. They do not know how to bear grudges hence they are so easily forgiving.

As adult, can we do the same. As i reflect, i recalled how i was so upset with my son when he snapped at me in front of so many people during our cny visits last weekend. He was angry with me coz I din allow him to join some of the kids play ball downstairs. I was so mad with him to the extend that i din even want to see or talk to him. I was all prepared to punish him when we reached home later on. But i didnt la….only that it takes me awhile to respond to him when he approached me (2,3 times lol ). See, even with my own 5 yr old kid, my heart can be as hard as stone.

We definitely have to live up to our Lord’s Prayer. We praise & honour HIM, we seek HIM, surrender everything as we put all our trust in HIM & resisting temptations & most importantly, we forgive. We have no other choice but to forgive, if we are to experience God’s forgiveness. Only then will we allow Christ to grow in us.
