To Serve with Love (2)
we were supposed to join our community to JB for some evangelisng work 2 weekends ago. we’ve made a promise that we’ll be there. but due to my being ’super organised’, i forgot that i have my godson’s party on that day too & so, we didnt go. feel really bad & wondering what will they think of us. when i shared this sentiment with someone, he told me that we shouldnt be so stress out. God knows our intentions & that is good enough. He added that we should not be thinking of doing this if its going to affect our life & our family since our kids are still so small.
on a side note, another brethren also shared that its quite difficult for her to take up a role to serve God simply because she feels that she is not worthy. she feels that her life & family is not even in order yet, how could she ever think of serving God at a higher level.
hmm… i just wonder. could there be some truth in there? or can we be totally be honest to ourselves if those are the real reasons? are we giving excuses cos we are not ready to committ. have we given ourselves a chance to even try it - to evangelise, to serve Him thru the community. are we going to do that only when we are ready? but when will that be. when would we know that we ready. only when our lives are’ in order’? as we serve, we learn thru our brother & sisters in the community. we learn thru their sharings. so we put to practice what we’ve learnt. that’s how it’ll change us. tht’s how we correct our ways, hence thats how it’ll help us to put our live in order. or perhaps only when we’ve achieved what we’ve been working on? the day will never come. coz when we’ve attain what we’ve been searching for, we’ll set ourselves another goal to achieve it. or are we going to wait until we face challenges & difficulties. only then we’ll be thinking of Him? only then will we pray? do you realise how selfish can that be! is it right for us to put God 2nd after all that He has done for us?
God didnt expect us to work only on our own strength. God wants us to learn & draw strength from him. we just need to ask Him for guidance, we just need to ask Him to take charge of our daily lives so it’ll go according to His plan. we just need to entrust Him all our concerns. havent we heard that God works in a mysterious way. the minute we say yes to Him, He will make it possible for us. trust in Him & He’ll takes care the rest. He will send down the Holy Spirit to guide us. He will bless us with all the virtues we need & be assured that (Mark 16:17) “…this signs will accompany those who believes….”
we should not worry that when we serve, its going to take alot of our time, its going to affect our personal lives. its going to affect our childrens’ well being, (due to countless meetings, teachings, spiritual talks, prayers & praise & worships). why dont we see it as a blessing coz we are teaching our children in their spiritual growth. allowing them to grow up while learning to serve thru the community. we are not going to wait until they grow older. it might be too late…
so let’s not forget, our loyalty should always be first, to His Holy Will and then to all others. like sister gerry (thx sis) shared in her talk 2 nites ago, ‘God takes care all of our concerns of your heart if we love God & serve God!’ Amen to that!

God is interested in willingness
leave the rest to Him. Do you realize that raising Godly children is serving Him
yes TRACY, its not what you’ve already done for Him tht matters. its the feeling of joy after doing it. thats when we know we did it with an open heart & out of love for Him. gb!
