Ascension Day
today is ascension day. the day our “Lord Jesus was taken up into heaven and took his seat at God’s right hand”(mk 16:19). its a call for us to meditate on the meaning of this mysterious celebration. its a day that reminds us that the taking away of Jesus from His disciples has left us a purpose. He has left the harvest to us. so lets continue His mission and pursue it with the pastoral zeal and missionary effort which He had showed us even though our work may be marked with many weaknesses but hey…we are just human. all He asked of us is to “go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to all creation” (mk 16:15)… to be His witnesses..even to the ends of the earth.. (acts 1:8) He’ll never abandon us for sure. let His spirit work on us. for the “spirit of truth will guide us to all the truth” (john 16:13). & all we have to do is to be opened & just allow Him to use us as His instrument.
