Virtue of Humility
humility can sometimes be commonly misunderstood. some of us think that being humble means its a tell tale of weakness, unreasoning sense of inferiority or lack of self-appreciation. but if we think deeper, we may understand that humility is truly an honest facing of facts, admitting oneself of their own capabilities and shortcomings. it teaches us to be simple & unpretentious just like what Jesus spoke of a child in todays gospel. if we adopt the virtue of humility, we will live free from self-deception & thus we will act fairly in our daily lives.
there’s so much pretense in our human lives. so much ‘putting on’, so much posing. we like to appear better then we are. we always put on airs and act superior to others. but in reality, we do not always work hard enough to improve ourselves or become better. the worse thing is that we are no better than those we have belittled or condemned! we must always be reminded that we are in complete dependence on God in all things. we should not act as if God owes us everything. God loves those who lives an honest life, a truthful life and not expecting anything in return. God loves those who humbles himself.
a humble man is so concious of his boundless debt to God that he finds it hard to complain. he does not look for admiration and willing to be last as others are anxious to be first. he is not interested in honor, reputation or human applause. he does not care what others think of him but in all things he’s eager to please the One and only God, our Father, cos he knows that only thru Him he will seek approval…

thx for sharing your video. there’s so much we can learn from your insights and experiences. indeed, it is the Lord’s grace that we are mindful of what that may prevent us from getting closer to Him. GB!
